CEngine Software Policy
Open modification rights with equipment protection
Last updated: March 01, 2026
1. Introduction
CEngine is proprietary software developed by CAMPATECHNOLOGIES for industrial automation and equipment control. This policy outlines the terms under which CEngine software is provided to customers and end-users of our automation equipment.
By using equipment that includes CEngine software, you agree to the terms of this policy.
2. Open Source Modification Rights
We believe in empowering our customers to adapt our software to their specific needs. Therefore, we grant the following rights:
- Source Code Access: Customers receive access to the CEngine source code for the equipment they have purchased.
- Modification Rights: You may modify, customize, and extend the CEngine software to suit your operational requirements.
- Internal Use: Modified versions may be deployed on the original equipment for which the license was purchased.
- No Approval Required: You do not need our approval to make modifications for your own use.
3. Prohibited Actions
To protect our intellectual property and prevent unauthorized equipment cloning, the following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Replication: You may not copy, replicate, or reproduce CEngine software or any substantial portion thereof for use on equipment other than the originally licensed equipment.
- Duplication: You may not duplicate CEngine software to create new instances for deployment on additional or unauthorized equipment.
- Distribution: You may not distribute, sell, sublicense, or transfer CEngine software or modified versions to third parties.
- Equipment Cloning: You may not use CEngine software or its source code to create clones, replicas, or derivatives of CAMPATECHNOLOGIES equipment.
- Reverse Engineering for Cloning: You may not reverse engineer CEngine for the purpose of creating competing equipment or software.
4. Purpose of Restrictions
These restrictions exist to:
- Protect Investment: Our equipment represents significant engineering investment, and these restrictions ensure that investment is protected.
- Prevent Unauthorized Cloning: Equipment cloning undermines the integrity of our products and can lead to safety and quality concerns.
- Maintain Quality: By controlling deployment, we can ensure that CEngine operates only on equipment that meets our quality standards.
- Support Innovation: Protecting our intellectual property allows us to continue investing in research and development.
5. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in CEngine software, including but not limited to copyrights, patents, trade secrets, and trademarks, remain the exclusive property of CAMPATECHNOLOGIES.
The modification rights granted under this policy do not transfer any ownership of intellectual property. Any modifications you make may incorporate our intellectual property, and you agree that such modifications do not grant you any ownership rights to the original CEngine code.
6. Compliance and Enforcement
We take violations of this policy seriously. In the event of a breach:
- We reserve the right to terminate your license to use CEngine software.
- We may pursue legal remedies available under applicable intellectual property laws.
- Violators may be held liable for damages resulting from unauthorized use or distribution.
If you become aware of any violations of this policy, please report them to us immediately.
